April 16-17, 2015
The National Eating Disorder Information Centre is pleased to be hosting the fourth bi-annual Body-Image and Self-Esteem Conference: Body Equity: Self-Esteem in the Balance.
This conference is a unique opportunity in Canada to learn more about the current research, evidence-based practices and innovative outreach in a multi-disciplinary, action-oriented environment.
We are proud to provide an opportunity for you to choose among sessions that will illuminate topics from both sides of the equation: personal experience and professional practice. And to recognize that there is common ground among all of us – that binary positions of “them” and “us” may be less useful than harmful to both “them” and “us.”
Our keynote and session presenters represent a strong program of individuals with expertise in, connection to, and actions on the real-world desires and struggles that individuals have with body-image, self-esteem and food and weight issues. We thank them for sharing their knowledge and insights in the field.
We wish you all a rich learning experience at the conference, and trust that you will leave energized with new ideas, thoughts and practical tips to serve you, your practice or classroom and your clients or students. Also, we hope that you will leave the conference with an enlarged circle of support and opportunity.
As we celebrate our 30th anniversary, NEDIC continues to value you - our delegates, partners and clients – for your passion, interest and capacity to make a positive difference in the understanding of body-image, self-esteem and food, weight and shape issues.
