New Report: Peel’s Kids Participate: Progress Report to the Community – Year One

In 2013, the Peel Children and Youth Initiative released Peel’s Kids Participate: A Recreation and After School Strategy 2013-18 – a comprehensive, long-term strategy for Peel Region to help engage more children and youth in healthy and safe recreation opportunities. We have just released an update to the community on the first year of this strategy’s progress. This update report is a true look at what has worked, and what hasn’t, while implementing this collective strategy in Peel. Plus, we highlight some innovative partnerships and initiatives that have grown out of this strategy. We hope that the strategy, and our progress, may serve as an example for other municipalities in Ontario looking to increase recreation participation through the integration and collaboration of the systems that serve children, youth and families.
