KFL&A Public Health, an accredited local public health agency affiliated with Queen’s University, serves to promote and protect the health of the more than 180,000 residents of the Kingston, Frontenac, and Lennox & Addington area. KFL&A Public Health has an opening for a part time AMOH. Reporting to the Medical Officer of Health (MOH), the AMOH assists the MOH in administrative and statutory responsibilities, including planning, developing, supervising and evaluating programmes in the administration of KFL&A Public Health. The AMOH assumes responsibilities for programmes delegated by the MOH and participates in the overall planning and decision-making of KFL&A Public Health as a member of the Executive Committee. Responsibilities also include assisting the MOH with Board of Health and external constituent relations, providing preventive medicine consultation to KFL&A Public Health staff, to health professionals and other professional colleagues in the community and participating in teaching and research in the Faculty of Health Sciences at Queen’s University and in clinical programmes offered by KFL&A Public Health.

We are looking for a strategic, proven leader to join our executive team. The ideal candidate will have a medical degree, a fellowship in Public Health and Preventive Medicine with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, be registered with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, have academic and professional qualifications suitable for appointment to relevant university departments and have experience as a medical practitioner.
