Public Health Dietitian, Perth District Health Unit

Summary:    

The Public Health Dietitian plans and delivers assigned nutrition programs and services using a variety of health promotion strategies. The initial assignment will be on the Chronic Disease, Injury Prevention and Substance Misuse Prevention Team in the Community Health Department.

Education:    

  • a Baccalaureate degree in foods and nutrition
  • completion of an accredited dietetic internship
  • current registration with the College of Dietitians of Ontario

Skills:

  • previous experience in community health is preferred
  • demonstrated proficiency in oral and written communications
  • proven ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team
  • computer skills including Word and Internet

Conditions:

  • terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the OPSEU  Collective Agreement
  • obtain and maintain a satisfactory criminal reference check and require immunizations in accordance with Board Policy including annual influenza immunization unless medically contra indicated
  • a valid Ontario Driver’s License and access to a safe and well maintained vehicle suitable for carrying out duties on behalf of the employer

Hours: 35 hours bi-weekly  

Wage: $36.23 - $41.43 per hour
