New Resources--Health Promoter Competencies Toolkit, Pan-Canadian Network for Health Promoter Competencies Committee

The Pan-Canadian Network for Health Promoter Competencies Committee has recently launched a competency-based toolkit to support the use of the Pan-Canadian Health Promoter Competencies; http://www.healthpromotercanada.com/hp-competencies/

The Health Promoter Competencies Toolkit (http://www.healthpromotercanada.com/toolkit-overview/) provides a series of tools that will be of interest to practitioners, their managers, and academic institutions. Examples of tools include: a health promoter position profile, a self-assessment tool, sample job descriptions and many others.

This Toolkit will be presented at the Canadian Public Health Association (CPHA) conference on Monday May 25, 2015 in Vancouver, BC. The Network invites you to join their session entitled “Developing discipline-specific competencies and a national network for health promoters” to learn about the latest tools that have been developed, with input across Canada, for supporting health promoters. It will also be a great opportunity to network and provide feedback.

An online evaluation survey is now available to collect feedback until June 30, 2015: http://www.healthpromotercanada.com/feedback.  Once you have had a chance to review or use any of the tools, please take a moment to provide your feedback to improve the Toolkit. Improvements to the Toolkit will be released in the fall of 2015. We welcome any feedback and value your input!
