As a member of Office of the Medical Officer of Health the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO)/Professional Practice Leader (PPL) supports planning, development, implementation and evaluation of quality program and services in accordance with the mandate of the Health Protection and Promotion Act and associated Regulations. The CNO/PPL enhances health outcomes of the community at the individual, group and population levels through contributing in a supervisory capacity to organizational strategic planning. This position assists in decision making to facilitate and enable quality public health nursing practice.  In this position you will articulate, model, and lead the way towards a vision of excellence in public health nursing practice which results in evidence-based services and quality health.


This Non-Union Group position is located at: Lambton Public Health, 160 Exmouth Street, Sarnia, Ontario N7T 7Z6


Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from a recognized University and a Graduate Degree in nursing, community health, public health, health promotion, health administration or other relevant equivalent.  (Incumbent must have or be committed to obtaining a recognized graduate degree within five years of designation). Graduate training in a public health program is preferred. You are a Registered Nurse in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario and have a minimum four years nursing experience with progressive leadership responsibilities, including significant level of experience in public health. Valid Ontario driver's license and use of a reliable vehicle required.
