Manager, Success By 6 Peel

The Peel Children and Youth Initiative (PCYI) is a collaborative organization working with more than 100 community partners to improve outcomes for children and youth (0-24 years) in Peel through practice, policy and system level changes. The Manager of Success By 6 Peel will lead PCYI’s collaborative work with more than 40 partners from the private and not-for-profit sector who serve as the integrated planning table for the Region of Peel focussed on the Early Years (pre-natal – age 6).

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Executive Director of PCYI, the Manager, Success By 6 Peel will lead the early years strategy in accordance with the mission, vision and values of PCYI. The Manager will work with a broad cross-sectoral group of individuals and organizations to improve early year outcomes for children in Peel through integrated planning, research and policy development. As Manager, the successful candidate with have:


  • Masters Degree in Early Child Development, or an associated discipline
  • Comprehensive knowledge of early child development and legislation affecting children in all levels of government
  • A minimum seven years’ experience working as a manager in children’s services
  • Familiarity with community, early learning, child care, social and health service networks
  • Proven project management, group facilitation and leadership skills
  • The ability to represent PCYI on other collaborative projects and engage with a variety of community stakeholders
  • Knowledge of the Peel social service sector and additional language capabilities will be considered an asset
  • A valid driver’s license and daily access to a vehicle


  • Very strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Considerable experience leading community groups, Boards and committees with senior level volunteers and administrators
  • Proven ability to organize, host, present and facilitate public meetings
  • Experience and comfort with research and evaluation methods
  • Familiarity with an anti-oppression framework 
  • Maintain positive relationships with, and report to, funders and other stakeholders
  • Computer proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Engagement and familiarity with social media
