This past year (January 2014-March 2015) the Canadian Mental Health Association, Ontario Division offered an exciting pilot project aimed at enhancing mental well-being among older adults in Ontario. The pilot project delivered the Living Life to the Full program to 375 older adults in communities across Ontario and conducted an impact evaluation.
Living Life to the Full (http://www.livinglifetothefull.ca), also known as 12 hours that can change your life, is an 8-week course that helps people gain skills and knowledge to cope with life’s challenges. This pilot, generously funded by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care Healthy Communities Fund, was a great success! Older adults experienced improvements in mood, anxiety, stress levels, social connectedness and overall quality of life.
The pilot project has now come to a close — but the course will still continue! Over 25 CMHA branches in Ontario have the potential to deliver the Living Life to the Full course.
Please join us to learn more! We will discuss the details of the course, benefits to seniors, and information about how to host a course. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions and hear from peers.
