Public Health Inspector, KFL&A Public Health

KFL&A Public Health, an accredited local public health agency affiliated with Queen’s University, serves to promote and protect the health of the more than 180,000 residents of Kingston, Frontenac, and Lennox & Addington area. The Infectious Disease Prevention and Environmental Health Division has an immediate opening for a Public Health Inspector, Environmental Health. The Public Health Inspector will be responsible for carrying out a general public health inspection program in a designated area through enforcement of the Health Protection and Promotion Act, and the Regulations made thereunder and other relevant legislation. The Public Health Inspector will provide services required under Part 8 of the Building Code and the Regulations made thereunder.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Science – Environmental Health degree or equivalent and possess a Certificate in Public Health Inspection (Canada) and be qualified to be appointed and remain appointed under the Building Code Act as an inspector within 12 months of hire. One year of related experience is preferred.
