The Canadian Professional Association for Transgender Health (CPATH) is pleased to announce that registration is now open.
Transforming the Landscape of Transgender Health and Wellness: Supporting Community Growth and Cultivating Clinical Practice combines a three-day national conference with a day of pre-conference training workshops. The event is an ideal opportunity for community members and professionals from various fields to come together to network and share knowledge about trans health.
The conference focuses on three themes:
- Clinical practice and professional development
- Determinants of trans health
- Creating systems change
The pre-conference consists of two streams. One is a full day workshop that focuses on working from a systemic perspective with gender creative kids, trans children and youth, and supporting couples through transition and beyond. The second stream consists of a set of three modules that build clinicians competency in alignment with the WPATH standards of care. This set of modules addresses: culturally competent care for trans people; application of WPATH standards, assessment and letter writing; and the importance of family doctors in primary health care for trans and gender variant people.
Register before August 15th to save with the early bird rate. CPATH members receive an additional discount. Rates for students, and for individual days of the conference, are also available.
