New Resources--Priority Populations technical report and Focus On: A Proportionate Approach to Priority Populations, Public Health Ontario

The Priority Populations technical report (http://www.publichealthontario.ca/en/eRepository/Priority_Populations_Te...) and Focus On: A Proportionate Approach to Priority Populations (http://www.publichealthontario.ca/en/eRepository/Focus_On_Priority_Popul...) are a response to the need expressed by Ontario’s public health units for guidance in identifying priority populations to meet the OPHS mandate to identify at risk populations and determine groups that would benefit most from public health programs and services (i.e., priority populations).

Through a review of the literature, key informant interviews, and surveys, the project examines three questions:

  • What are priority populations?
  • Why do we identify priority populations?
  • How do we identify populations?
