Position Summary:

The position provides project management to the implementation of Health Links within the Central East LHIN Region and serves as a leader, coach, and expert in project/portfolio management to ensure the initiatives and stakeholders successfully plan, execute and manage the elements of the strategy.

  • Provide leadership in collaboration with improvement teams, working groups, the Design Team and Steering Committee to ensure that the strategy is consistent with the overall Health Link aims, meets intended objectives, and efficiently uses human and fiscal resources;
  • Establish relationships and open consultation with key participants/partners;
  • Prepare an integrated work plan for Health Links starting with patient engagement and the identification of change concepts;
  • Guide the development, review and approval of action plans;
  • Provide day-to-day support to the project teams;
  • Monitor and guide implementation, prepare reports and initiate corrective action as needed;
  • Develop documentation e.g. charter, schedule, budget, risk plan, etc (in consultation with Health Link partners as needed);
  • Provide strategic input and support to the Central East Health Links Project Management Office;
  • Health Link budget management and reporting to the Central East LHIN;
  • Submit reports as per funding agreement and ensure deliverables and timelines identified are met;
  • Adhere to the CECCAC Project Management Guidelines, including the completion of monthly/quarterly status reports;
  • Establish a tracking process to monitor approved implementation plans, deliverables, timelines and responsible persons;
  • Coordinate with Health Quality Ontario to ensure quality improvement methodologies are used in the development of action plans;
  • Support project priorities, contracts and reporting;
  • Advise on resource allocation;
  • Identify and translate best practice from one sector to the next;
  • Stakeholder engagement and management.

Minimum Qualifications & Position Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education/degree in one of the following discipline: health administration, health planning, research or equivalent experience in a health care environment. (with a minimum of 5 years experience);
  • Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) or equivalent experience;
  • Background in healthcare services;
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in project administration/management and project management methodology, including use of project management software;
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in change management;
  • Previous experience in carrying out research and data analysis in support of planning initiatives, preferably in the health care sector;
  • Good knowledge of and proven ability to apply multiple planning and analysis methodologies and make effective recommendations;
  • Excellent understanding of the Ontario health-care system and issues;
  • Excellent written communications skills to prepare clear reports and analyses of data which will support effective decision-making and priority-setting;
  • Excellent oral communications skills to explain complex technical information to superiors, colleagues and stakeholders;
  • Strong teamwork and customer service skills;
  • Ability to resolve conflicts;
  • Proficiency with computer-based hardware/software and inter / intranets.
