Help young adults to quit smoking with Leave The Pack Behinds Annual wouldurather…Contest

Deadline January 24, 2016

Young adults have the highest prevalence of tobacco use, the greatest intention to quit of all age groups, yet are the least likely to be asked by health professionals about quitting smoking. Leave The Pack Behind, the best practice program for young adult smoking cessation, is currently promoting its effective and successful wouldurather….Contest. Up to 20% of young adults in the contest will succeed in quitting, more than double the rate of unassisted quitting!

For the last two weeks of registration, help young adults (ages 18-29) in your community make positive changes to their tobacco use behaviour – whether that is quitting, cutting back, cutting out smoking when partying, or renewing a decision to stay smoke-free in the wouldurather…Contest. Participants sign up by January 24th at the contest website (http://www.wouldurather.ca) and can win up to $2,500.

When they register, participants receive:

  • Regular support emails
  • Help from their support buddy
  • Occasional offers to receive free Nicotine Replacement Therapy from Leave The Pack Behind (subject to availability)

Leave The Pack Behind provides free material to support you in promoting the Contest.

  • Print poster (English and French 11x17) to post on display boards, in exam rooms or waiting rooms or resource centres
  • Stylus Promotional Pens
  • Digital ads for your website, LCD screens, or social media accounts

To order materials email Jennifer O’Brien at jobrien2@brocku.ca or call the Leave The Pack Behind office at 905-688-5550 ext. 4992.
