Position: Program Administrative Assistant - OPSEU – Vaccine Preventable Diseases Program

Hours of Work: Temporary – Full-Time – 35 Hours Per Week (1.00 FTE)
 
Effective: As soon as possible to December 9, 2016 (Subject to Change)

Location: Main Office – North Bay

Position Summary:

As a member of the multi-disciplinary team, the incumbent will provide administrative support to the Vaccine Preventable Diseases Program which will include interacting with clients during in-house clinics, community and school based clinics, scheduling appointments, data entry, filing and providing coverage at reception as required.

Qualfications:

Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • 2 year diploma from community college in Office Administration or a combination of education and work experience considered equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years recent related experience
  • Experience in scheduling clients for a variety of clinical procedures
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Advanced audio-visual technological skills (interactive boards, videoconferencing and teleconferencing)
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with clients and customers in a respectful, empathetic and professional manner
  • Advanced computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in the use of MS office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher and Access). Please Note: Formal proficiency tests will be done to evaluate proficiency level in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Familiarity with the use of databases as well as Ministry of Health reporting and billing databases is also required
  • Excellent keyboarding skills
  • Ability to function independently and/or in a team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to manage diverse priorities and coordinate multiple assignments to ensure program timelines and objectives are met
  • Reliable, self-motivated and able to flex work hours, including some weekends and evenings to support community clinics and program needs
  • May be required to travel within North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit’s jurisdiction

As a condition of employment, the successful candidate will be required to provide a Criminal Reference Check including the Vulnerable Sector Check: recent, within four (4) months at their expense and will be required to comply with the Health Unit’s immunization policies. Hourly Rate: Minimum $24.43 to Maximum $27.50 (plus 4% vacation pay and 4% public holiday pay)
