Measuring Health Research Funding Impact in Ontario: The Health System Research Fund Impact Assessment Framework, Knowledge Translation and Exchange Community of Practice

Online and Toronto, Ontario
January 19, 2016

4:00-6:00 p.m.
Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, Room 7-105, 252 Bloor Street West

The Toronto Chapter of Knowledge Translation and Exchange Community of Practice (KTE COP) presents a talk by Michael Hillmer, Director, Planning, Research and Analysis Branch, Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care.

The Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care (MOHLTC) Health System Research Fund (HSRF) provides competitive funding to health system and population health research to build research capacity in Ontario, strengthen the uptake and use of evidence into policy and decision-making, and promote research that supports and informs Ontario’s Action Plan for Health Care, Patients First.

The MOHLTC Impact Assessment Framework provides a systematic means of capturing how research/KTE outputs are used to inform healthcare policy and practice. Evaluating research/KTE impacts from both funded recipients’ and knowledge users’ perspectives contribute to understanding the HSRF’s emerging impact on the health of Ontarians and healthcare system improvements.
