Online Discussion--Paving the way: Defining the problem for policy development, HC Link

March 24, 2016

1:00-2:00 p.m. EST

Have you ever had to implement a policy when you’re not sure what problem it is meant to solve? Do you struggle to develop a collective understanding of community problems in which policy development may be a solution? Join HC Link’s Andrea Bodkin and advisor-on-tap Kim Bergeron from Health Promotion Capacity Building Services at Public Health Ontario in an online chat to discuss the first step in the policy development process: defining the problem. The importance of this step is to assess if the problem can be addressed by developing a healthy public policy.

In real-time using an online chat board, participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and share ideas related to defining policy problems (there is no audio for this online chat).

Join this interactive live conversation between 1:00 and 2:00 p.m on March 24th here: (no need to register in advance).

Login as a guest using your full name (this is how you will be identified on the discussion board) and share your thoughts with people working across Ontario in the area of policy.

Following the forum, we’ll summarize the discussion to share our collective thoughts and ideas from the chat on HC Link’s blog. No identifying factors will be included in this summary (e.g., ideas vs. names will be summarized).
