Mobilizing for change: Powerful lessons from the frontlines, Community Food Centres Canada

Toronto, Ontario
April 1, 2016

7:30 to 9:00 p.m.
Al Green Theatre, Miles Nadal JCC, 750 Spadina Avenue

Poverty. Health. Environment. Human rights. How do we tackle the complex issues that define our time?

Leading voices in food security, social justice, environment, youth, and politics will take centre stage for a series of short and impassioned talks. Each of our four presenters will dive into an honest examination of how they are achieving change on the ground. Our questions to them: What sparked change? How did you take action? And what did success look like?

Featured Panelists:

  • Joanna Kerr, Executive Director of Greenpeace Canada
  • Beatriz Beckford, Director of Grassroots Action Network at Why Hunger in New York City
  • Celeste Licorish, Speak Now Hamilton Speakers Bureau for the Hamilton Roundtable for Poverty Reduction
  • Jessica Bolduc, Executive Director of the 4Rs Youth Movement

The event is moderated by Nick Saul, CEO of Community Food Centres Canada.
