Registered Nurse, Brant County Health Unit

The Vaccine Preventable Disease program area at the Brant County Health Unit currently seeks a Registered Nurse (RN). The incumbent will assist with numerous initiatives, including the cold chain protocol program, immunization requirements for licensed day cares, school vaccination assessment and suspension processes and other immunization clinics. The RN will act as contact person for inquiries about vaccine allergies and adverse reactions; he/she will also provide emergency treatment to any client experiencing adverse vaccine reactions following an immunization clinic.

Qualified applicants must have completed a college or other approved program for Registered Nurses. A valid certificate of registration form the College of Nurses of Ontario is also required. Outstanding communication and teamwork abilities are also needed for success in this community-focused role; as well, detailed record-keeping skills are essential. Additionally, the incumbent must possess skills to safely store and transport vaccines. A valid Ontario driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle are also necessary.

Terms and conditions of employment in accordance with the ONA Nurses’ Collective Agreement. Starting wage range: $32.03 – $35.25/hour, 35 hours in a two week period.
