Health Promotion Foundations Course: Building capacity for evidence-informed health promotion practice, PHO

November 30, 2016

9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

This is an open invitation and may be forwarded to interested parties.

The Ottawa Charter for Health Promotion is the predominant framework used for health promotion in Canada. However, people arrive to the field from a variety of career and educational paths and the level of understanding of the Ottawa Charter varies. There is a need to provide learning opportunities to highlight the strategies and action areas of the Ottawa Charter for promoting health and building capacity for evidence-informed health promotion practice. The purpose of this webinar is to promote the availability and utilization of Public Health Ontario’s Health Promotion Foundations Course, a self-directed online course which provides an in-depth look at the action areas of the Ottawa Charter.  Participants will be oriented to the function and content of the course and how it is being used to build and strengthen health promotion practice in Canada.

This webinar will be of specific interest to health promotion practitioners who are:  new to the field, those who have not specifically received health promotion training or those interested in refreshing their understanding of health promotion in Canada. Human Resource departments and those working on public health foundational standards may also be interested in the content of this webinar.
