WHMIS 2015 Courses, Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety

The Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety (CCOHS) has developed two online courses to help Canadian workplaces as they transition to WHMIS 2015. WHMIS 2015 aligns Canada’s workplace hazard communication system with the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS).

WHMIS 2015 For Managers and Supervisors is intended to help participants understand their duties and responsibilities under the WHMIS 2015 legislation: http://www.ccohs.ca/products/courses/whmis_2015_for_mgrs/. The course covers the new WHMIS hazard classes, pictograms and their meanings; the types of information provided on supplier and workplace labels; and how to control and reduce the dangers of working with hazardous chemicals.

WHMIS 2015: Understanding SDSs explains the purpose of safety data sheets (SDSs) and the information contained in them: http://www.ccohs.ca/products/courses/understand_sds/. The course provides a thorough explanation of WHMIS 2015 safety data sheets and fulfills requirements for education on safety data sheet content and meaning.
