Multi-stakeholder processes are an emerging tool used to address large scale systemic problems. This is a workshop for community developers, health promoters, and service providers. Topics to be covered include the Basics of Multi-stakeholder Organizations, and How They Work; Power and Boundaries; Tools for Decision Making; Strategic Planning; Policy Making; Lateral Leadership; and Best Practices.



Joan Roberts has over 20 years of experience designing and facilitating small and large group processes and as a social innovator. She holds a Masters Degree in Organization Development. Her thesis focus was multi-stakeholder processes. A book is in process with the working title Alliances, Coalitions and Partnerships. Upcoming articles will appear in the Collaborative Work Systems Fieldbook published by John Wiley and Sons (Mar 2003).
