Best Start - Ontario's Maternal, Newborn and Early Child Development Resource Centre is hosting a regional workshop, developed and presented in collaboration with Halton Region Health Department.

Health Before Pregnancy (preconception) is an introductory, interactive workshop for service providers who work with clients in their childbearing years. It is an opportunity for local service providers working in Reproductive Health, Healthy Babies Healthy Children, CAP-C/CPNP, Family Resource Centres, Early Years Centres, Community Health Centres, Midwifery, and others. It will include general population strategies, as well as strategies targeted to specific groups such as workplaces, teens, and other high-risk populations.

Discuss the importance of preconception for both men and women. Learn about effective strategies when working with clients to improve preconception health. Assist men and women to make informed choices related to their health and the health of future children. Ensure that people have the healthiest baby possible.

The workshop registration fee is $40.00 and the deadline is February 28, 2003. Refreshments and lunch will be provided.
