Many health care workplaces have mandates to improve health equity. In reality, however, institutional structures such as medical schools and hospitals often reproduce and intensify inequities. This session is designed to help physicians, nurses, social workers, receptionists, administrators, managers and researchers:
- Recognize some of the ways in which inequities are reproduced through the medical system.
- Identify some opportunities to shift practices, improve outcomes, and mitigate negative impacts.
