KFL&A Public Health is a local public health agency with over 200 staff and 150 volunteers who deliver public health programs and services to the people of the KFL&A area.
The Infectious Disease Prevention and Environmental Health Division has an immediate opening for a Public Health Inspector Practicum. The successful candidate will fulfill the requirements of the Canadian Institute of Public Health Inspectors Board of Certification and will assist in the delivery of applicable programs and services under the Ontario Public Health Standards. While under the direction of a certified Public Health Inspector, the successful candidate will carry out the duties and responsibilities related to a general Environmental Health Program, including the inspection of food establishments, special events, personal services settings, small drinking water systems, public pools and spas.
The candidate will be a graduate of an institution in Canada that has an approved Environmental Health Program that leads to certification as a public health inspector, a valid Ontario driver’s license, reliable vehicle and public liability and property damage insurance, proficient with computers and related software, willing to work flexible hours and travel throughout the health unit.
