Helping Others Promote Peace Everywhere

The Helping Others Promote Peace Everywhere (H.O.P.E.) conference planning committee are excited to present the first Violence-Prevention Service Provider Symposium (SPS) and Family Fair (FF), hosted by the Family Education Centre and funded by the Early Years Challenge Fund - Ministry of Children and Youth Services.

The SPS aims to increase knowledge and skills in violence-prevention strategies when working with families and children (0-6 years). Through the keynote addresses from Sarah Landy, "Breaking athe Cycle of Violence: Working with Parents with Unresolved Loss and Trauma," and Leanna Tallmeister, who will share her personal journey with Childhood Bullying, we believe you will be inspired. The interactive workshops offered by professionals province-wide will be an opportune time for service providers to network, learn, and grow. We also believe that this conference will give service providers the opportunity to use creativity and, therefore, be inspired to bring play and learning into their practice with the families and children that they work with every day. Other special events available to service providers include wellness breaks, (Reiki, massage therapy, etc.) book selling and signing, a finale facilitated by Creative Edge Consultants, and an ice cream farewell.
