Planned Parenthood of Toronto launched the premiere edition of The Sex Educator in March 2001 at the Sex ED. In The City training seminar.
The premiere edition, sponsored by AKZO Nobel (Organon Canada Ltd.), looks at the impacts of funding cutbacks on sexual health programs and explores how some community-based agencies are dealing with dwindling resources and increased service demand. Also included are features on male hormonal contraception, peer education for people with mobility disabilities and a resource section.
The goal of TheSexEducator is to create a forum for sexual health educators, health promoters and public health staff to discuss the challenges and successes of their work, keep informed of new developments in sexual and reproductive health and learn new strategies nd techniques for designing effective sexual health programs.
