White Paper: Criteria for Assessing the Quality of Health Information on the Internet

With 36.7% of consumers now searching the Internet for health and medical information, the quality of that information becomes a critical issue. This issue will only become more acute in light of the rapid

growth in the number of Internet users. The purpose of this paper is to provide a set of criteria that can be used accurately and reliably by the general public (consumer) to assess the quality of health information on the Internet.
