Visual Voices: 100 Photographs of Village China by the Women of Yunnan Province

From http://www.photovoice.com: Visual Voices ontains the first collection of images ever taken by Chinese village women and captures important themes of daily life in rural Yunnan province. Sixty-two village women documented their life conditions as they see them and then discuss them in small groups. They use their photographs to reach policy makers about health and community issues of greatest concern. Captions accompanying the images are in the farmers' own words. A study in large-scale community participation, Visual Voices documents the first use of photovoice to spur local action with results.
