Global Youth Service Day - April 21

In honour of Global Youth Service Day, Kristin McKinnon profiles a high school buddy program that is helping to integrate special needs students with the rest of their peers. April 21st is Global Youth Service Day (GYSD). Started by Youth Service America, Global Youth Service Day strives to recognize the year-round contributions of young people while recruiting a new generation of global volunteers, promoting the valuable contributions that young people make, and mobilizing communities to support them. In our country, Volunteer Canada is introducing this successful initiative as part of our International Year of Volunteers activities.
