Regional Community Resource Associate - CLF


Canadian Living Foundation (1 yr. Contract)



The Canadian Living Foundation is seeking a part-time (60 hours per month) Community Resource Associate in the North East Region of Ontario to promote child nutritional health, to disseminate information about Breakfast for Learning programs and resources, and to provide support to communities building partnerships to support child nutrition.



Responsibilities include:

distribute/disseminate information regarding programs and resources of Canadian Living Foundation, and opportunities for partnerships;

assist groups in the community starting new nutrition programs;

act as a resource person for communities building or enhancing partnerships using the Community Partners Guide;

assist communities in identifying key players, innovative approaches in improving child nutrition, ways of utilizing existing financial and non-financial resources, fundraising and partnership opportunities;

promote Canadian Living Foundation programs and resources and seek local and/or regional support for nutrition initiatives by liaising with key individuals at all government levels, parent councils, voluntary sector, boards of education, health departments, local business;

liaise with local and/or regional media to inform them about Canadian Living Foundation; local and/or regional nutrition initiatives; resources available;



Qualifications:

excellent facilitation, presentation and communication skills;

good knowledge and/or work experience with the education, health, voluntary, government, and business sector;

excellent leadership skills;

knowledge and belief in community development approaches;

superior ability to work independently



The selected Community Resource Associate will work closely with Canadian Living Foundation staff; will be thoroughly briefed and trained prior to assuming their responsibilities; will be self-employed on a contract basis; will be paid a monthly fee plus expenses.



Interested applicants will have a valid drivers license and be willing to travel to communities throughout their individual region, and will work out of own office.
