AOHC: Job Posting - Researcher/Information Specialist (.5FTE position)

This part-time position's objectives are two-fold. First, to provide research support to AOHC centre development projects, with a focus on the Building Healthier Organizations (BHO) accreditation process. The

second focus is to support the information clearing house functions at the AOHC.

Duties and Responsibilities

* Research Support to Centre Development Projects

* Internet and literature searches to support work of the Building Healthier Organizations (BHO) accreditation process

* Development of CHC prototypes related to Risk Management, Governance and other areas as assigned

* Research to BHO, Board Development and New Centre Development projects as required

* Internet research to assist in maintaining a current AOHC web site

* Archival Support for Centre Development Projects

* Using a database, web site and hard copy filing systems, catalogue and store relevant documents for BHO.

* Supports other Centre Development projects with archiving services, as needed


* 1 to 3 years experience as a researcher

* 1 to 3 years experience as an information specialist

* Post secondary education and/or work experience in information sciences or health sciences research

* Demonstrated strong user-level familiarity with computer operating systems, network, communication and application software including: Windows 98, Corel Office and other word processing, spread sheets, SPSS, data bases, report writing software, Internet, and HTML.

* Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as function as a member of a team

* Strong analysis and problem solving skills

* Excellent oral and written communication skills

* Bilingualism would be an asset

* Experience in the Community Health Sector would be an asset

Term and Salary Range

This is a part-time annual renewable contract position, $14,453 to $18,736 (.5 FTE) plus benefits
