Environmental Tobacco Smoke Project Co-ordinator/Health Promoter,


(Contract Position, Full Time Until March 31, 2001)



Reporting to the Director, Healthy Lifestyles, the incumbent will

participate in the planning, implementation, coordination and evaluation of the Environmental Tobacco Smoke (ETS) Project. This includes a needs assessment and media campaign.



Baccalaureate degree in health promotion/education or a baccalaureate degree in a health related discipline in which the applicant has successfully completed full courses in each of the following areas:

a) Health Promotion principles including community development and social marketing;

b) Program planning and/or program evaluation;

c) Epidemiology;

d) Behavioural psychology.



Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Group facilitation skills. Basic computer skills (WordPerfect 9.0) required and internet use. A valid Ontario driver's licence and a vehicle are required. Previous work experience in community based health promotion preferred. Flexible working hours are required.
