The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario, the Canadian Cancer Society (Ontario Division) and the Ontario Lung Association are committed to effective tobacco control at the provincial and local levels, and in partnership with the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, these charitable organizations have formed the Ontario Tobacco-free Network to operate as a coordinating structure that will enhance service to local tobacco-free councils. The role of the Community Development Specialist is to support and assist community-based anti-tobacco coalitions with activities related to tobacco events and issues throughout Ontario.
Your post secondary education, preferably in health or social sciences, will be combined with a minimum of 3 years experience in community development and organization; experience in advocacy a definite asset. You will possess strong computer skills, and a personal commitment to the reduction of smoking. Based in Toronto, you will be able to work flexible hours and travel within Ontario with access to own vehicle.
