Research Officer, Home Care Evaluation and Research Centre

Hiring Rate: $47,379 with annual step progression to maximum of $60,539

Type of Appointment: Budget - Term - one year, with possibility of renewal

Position Summary:

The Home Care Evaluation and Research Centre (HCERC), based at the University of Toronto, conducts research and evaluation that contributes to the effectiveness, quality, equity and efficiency of home care across Canada. We are currently seeking a Research Officer. Under the general supervision of the Co-Directors, the incumbent is responsible for designing, managing, and implementing all aspects of various research projects conducted by the Home Care Evaluation and Research Centre. Key responsibilities include: collaborating with the Co-Directors on the research goals of the Centre; participating in the development and

monitoring of timelines and project budgets; planning and coordinating data collection and analysis; preparing preliminary drafts of descriptive data results; overseeing the work of other project staff; assisting the Co-Directors in report writing and preparation of papers

for publication; and providing assistance with short-term projects as required.

Minimum Qualifications

*Education: Master's preparation in health sciences research or a social science field.

*Experience: Minimum of two years' related experience.

*Skills: Strong computer skills with advanced knowledge of SAS, SPSS, Microsoft Office, Endnote, email and Internet.

*Other: Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal, organizational and analytical skills; ability to exercise good judgement, initiative, tact and discretion; demonstrated ability in project planning and design; ability to work independently and as part of a team; pay attention to detail; work under pressure; and problem solve.
