Public Health Dietitian

One Year Pregnancy/Parental Leave

The Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit requires a full-time Public Health Dietitian for its Chronic Disease and Injury Prevention programs in Northumberland County.

The successful candidate will develop, implement and evaluate food and nutrition education programs. They will provide a food and nutrition information and advisory service to the public, health unit staff, community leaders, media and other health professionals. They will also provide nutrition-related consultation to other health unit programs as assigned.

The successful candidates will have:

registration with the College of Dietitians of Ontario

experience in community health

excellent skills in education, counselling, oral and written communication,

strong organizational, interpersonal and group facilitation skills

ability to work independently as well as with a multi-disciplinary team and with community groups

basic computer skills in a Windows-based environment (Wordperfect as a minimum)

valid drivers license and access to a vehicle for work

Location: Port Hope

Salary Range: $47,576 - 52,307 (2001)
