Community Programs in Addictions (COPA) is an addictions outreach agency in Toronto, specializing in services for older people (http://www.copacommunity.ca). Over the past eighteen years, COPA has become well recognized for its effective service approach in addressing addiction problems among older people. COPA is seeking an experienced, progressive Executive Director to lead the management and growth of the organization and its services. The ideal candidate will have a graduate degree in the human-services area and a proven record of success in community program management and implementation. The successful candidate will have experience working with board directors, government officials, community leaders, staff and volunteers. The position requires fund-raising experience and exceptional organizational, strategic planning, interpersonal and communication skills.
To fulfil the Vision and Mission of COPA, the Executive Director will work with the staff, board members, volunteers, other service providers and funders to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of services, the strategic planning of directions and the acquisition of adequate resources. If you are dedicated to participatory management within organizations, team service delivery with community partners and have the qualifications for the position, this may be the right opportunity for you.
* A minimum of five years in successful community program management and implementation
* A thorough understanding of the health services delivery system, financial management, fund-raising principles, strategic and operational planning
* Clinical experience in the field of addictions and in-depth understanding of the service needs of older people
