Social Planning Associates (2), Region of Waterloo, Social Services

Two Social Planning Associates are needed for the Region of Waterloo, Social Services, with the candidates contributing specifically to the area of Social Planning in the divisions of Children's Services or Employment and Income Support.

Providing leadership and/or support to Social Services, you will act as a project manager implementing social-planning processes and frameworks. Able to provide leadership, support and expertise in program evaluation, you will also prepare and present reports, conduct social research and translate research findings into easy to understand terms. The ability to identify initiatives and seek community partnerships is required.

* Children's Services--Temporary full-time for approximately two years

The candidate will conduct social research and evaluation to assess quality in child-care services and facilitate planning for special-needs resourcing.

Salary rate: $48,789-$60,986 per annum

* Employment and Income Support--Full-time permanent position

The candidate will support social research and evaluation in order to explain or predict activities within the division.

With a comprehensive knowledge of municipal and provincial social service programs, and related legislation, you are aware of the factors affecting social well-being and quality of life and have progressively responsible experience in social services or related field, normally acquired through the attainment of a Master's degree in Social Work, Social Planning or Community Psychology. Research; analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills; and the demonstrated ability to take a broad view of issues, events and activities are also required. Knowledge of Word or Lotus Notes and the willingness to travel to various locations within the region round out your qualifications.
