Dietitian Team Lead, Best Start Health Coalition in Peel


The Best Start Health Coalition in Peel aims to reduce the incidence of low birth-weight babies by offering free comprehensive services that promote the healthiest pregnancies possible, including health education, nutrition and social support to child bearing women and their families.



Duties and Responsibilities

* Report to the Executive Director

* Supervise site coordinators at Healthy Start/Teen Prenatal Supper Club programs

* Co-ordinate the daily operations of the Healthy Start/Teen Prenatal Supper Club programs: staffing, physical facility, program curriculum, site communications

* Provide nutrition education and counselling services

* Facilitate cooking demonstrations and group sessions

* Compile CPNP statistical data

* Other duties as assigned
Compensation/Time Commitment

A permanent position working 28 hours per week at $24.00 per hour, six month probationary period, some evening and weekend work required



Qualifications

* Undergraduate degree or equivalent

* Excellent organization, management and communication skills

* Knowledge of health promotion strategies

* Registered Dietitian with current membership in College of Dietitians of Ontario

* Excellent interpersonal, leadership and facilitation skills

* Skills in nutrition assessment, nutrition education and individual counselling

* Knowledge and expertise in the areas of pre and postnatal nutrition with particular attention to the needs of the low income population and people of other cultures
