Initial Assignment: Ontario Tobacco Research Unit



Position Description:

As the Project Coordinator, you will lead the design, development and

implementation of a web-based course on the science of tobacco control for public health professionals. In consultation with the chair of OTRU's Teaching and Training working group, and with the assistance of technical experts, the project coordinator will conduct an in-depth needs assessment, prepare a course syllabus, develop and test pilot modules, refine the design and delivery of content, market the course to target populations, and conduct an evaluation of course content. You will also prepare operational reports to the funding agency.
Qualifications:=

The successful candidate will possess a Master's degree in a related

discipline. You have extensive project coordination experience, combined with knowledge of instructional media and design, distance learning, content development and web site development, a variety of authoring systems, including WebCT, as well as knowledge of contemporary tobacco control activities and basic knowledge of financial management. You will also have familiarity with formative and summative evaluation.



Please note: This two-year, full-time contract position is part of the OPSEU bargaining unit.



Salary range: $22.24 to $30.00 per hour
