A vacancy exists for a Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor (depending on experience) in health promotion to provide academic leadership and direction for health promotion research and teaching. The Section of Social and Community Health in the School of Population Health is comprised mainly of academics with backgrounds in the social, behavioural, and health sciences. They have a wide range of research interests that span topics in clinical, community, and qualitative research. The recently formed School of Population Health has recently moved to a large new building on the University's Tamaki Campus. The School is unique to New Zealand in seeking to achieve regional and international standards in population health research, while at the same time providing high-level and accessible postgraduate learning for health practitioners and other health sector professionals.

Candidates must hold a recognised postgraduate research qualification, preferably a PhD degree, in the social or health sciences (e.g., public health, social work, sociology, education). They are also expected to
have demonstrable skills in managing health promotion projects of a community or public health nature and experience in the delivery of teaching programmes.
