Manager of Strategic Planning and Continuous Improvement, Public Health & Community Services Department, Strategic Services Division, City of Hamilton


You will provide leadership to our workforce engaged in development, implementation, monitoring, and rollout of our department's strategic and operational plans. Taking a "best practices" approach and applying strong innovative problem solving skills, you will develop and implement management tools, continuous improvement strategies, and information technology strategies to maximize the impact of service delivery. A strategic thinker with exceptional organizational skills, you will lead a team of staff who manage a variety of departmental projects including public health accreditation, management studies, business process reviews, policy and procedure development, volunteer services, and change management strategies in support of our mission, values, goals, and mandated services.

You have a degree in business, public or health administration, or a related discipline combined with relevant management training. Along with progressively responsible management experience, preferably in the social services, public health, or municipal services sectors, you have demonstrated competence in strategic and operational planning, organizational management, implementing change, business planning and analysis, and project management. Your proven ability to inspire and lead is supported by your excellent communication skills as well as facilitation and negotiation abilities.
