This assignment is with the Region of Waterloo, Social Services in Social Planning, Policy and Program Administration. The candidate will contribute specifically to the area of Social Planning for Children's Services.
Full time permanent position
Providing leadership and/or support you will act as a project manger
implementing social planning processes and frameworks that identify local priorities and strategies to ensure all children 0 to 12 have equitable access to affordable, appropriate, responsive, comprehensive and quality early childhood development, education and care in Waterloo Region. You will conduct social research, translate findings into easy to understand terms and prepare and present reports. The ability to identify initiatives and seek community partnerships is required. With a comprehensive knowledge of municipal and provincial social service programs, and related policies and legislation, you are aware of factors affecting children's social well-being and quality of life. The ideal candidate will have progressively responsible experience in a social services or related field, and the attainment of a Master's degree in Social Work, Social Planning, Social Policy or Community Psychology. Research, analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills and the demonstrated ability to take a broad view of issues, events and activities are also required. Computer skills using database systems and the willingness to travel to various locations with the Region year round out your qualifications.
Salary: $50,253 - $62,816
