Project Manager , Canadian Network of Smokers' Helplines


(contract position to March 31, 2005)

As part of the CNSH staff team and working closely with Health Canada staff, provide overall management to a major project. It will have three phases: planning to identify priorities for strategies and tools that can be used to promote the quitlines; working with media agencies and other suppliers to produce and test these tools; and disseminating the tools in cooperation with provincial quitlines and national agencies.

It will have three phases: planning to identify priorities for strategies and tools that can be used to promote the quitlines; working with media agencies and other suppliers to produce and test these tools; and disseminating the tools in cooperation with provincial quitlines and national agencies.



Other duties include:

*Assist in the development of the work plan for the project

*Manage the implementation of the work plan

*Manage contracts with suppliers

*Coordination with project advisory committee, quitlines, other organizations involved with the project

*Manage the evaluation plan for the initiative

*Support working groups as needed.



MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

*Post-graduate degree in communications or equivalent experience

*Knowledge of and experience in social marketing, mass media

*Knowledge of health promotion and behaviour change principles

*Strong project management skills, including scheduling tasks and budgeting

*Strong oral and written communication skills

*Experience in working collaboratively with a variety of partners

*Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

*Attention to detail and production of high quality, accurate work

*Proficiency with MS Windows programs, including word processing, spreadsheet and database software programs (Word, Excel, Access)

*Non-smoker.



ADDITIONAL VALUES

*Familiarity with tobacco control and the national, provincial and territorial stakeholders

*Bilingual in French and English.
