The Kidney Foundation of Canada is a national volunteer organization dedicated to improving the lives for all people affected by kidney disease. Based in Toronto, the Central Ontario Branch is committed to reducing the burden of kidney disease through funding and stimulating innovative research, providing education and support; promoting access to high quality healthcare, and increasing public awareness and commitment to advancing kidney health and organ donation.
The Central Ontario Branch is presently seeking candidates for the part-time position of Program Services Coordinator. The Program Services Coordinator is part of a staff team responsible for Peer Support programs including promotion in collaboration with the hospital renal team, recruitment, training and selecting volunteers, liaising with renal pro-fessionals, assessing patient needs and connecting patients with appropriate Peer Support volunteers. In addition, they will be part of the staff group responsible for providing facilitation for Renal Education events that take place within the Central Ontario Branch catchment area.
The suitable candidate will have a Bachelors of Social Work (with 2-3 years of experience) and possess excellent interpersonal skills. The individual will be a team player with organizational expertise as well as the ability to work independently. The use of a car and word processing skills are also required.
