Reports To: Manager, Cancer Information / CHN Project Manager

Salary Grade: TBD (Negotiable) 21 Hours/ Week



The Canadian Cancer Society is the Affiliate of the Canadian Health Network (CHN), a national bilingual web-based health information service sponsored by Health Canada. As part of the network of 26 Affiliates, the Canadian Cancer Society identifies, develops and selects web resources related to health and cancer, in both official languages.



The Partnerships and Marketing Coordinator has specific responsibilities to the CHN Project. The primary responsibility of the coordinator is to promote cancer prevention messages and the CHN collaboration. The coordinator will do this by partnering with other health NGOs and coordinating marketing and promotional activities for the Cancer Affiliate.



Primary Duties



Partnerships/Networking

* Identify, pursue and coordinate relationships with health-related NGOs, other CHN Affiliates and Network Contributors

* Organize annual networking workshop

* Develop and implement plan to ensure ongoing communications with partners and Network Contributors

* Provide networking expertise to the Cancer Affiliate team



Marketing/Promotion

* Develop and distribute regular communications to the Cancer Affiliate network, including electronic newsletter

* Coordinate conference participation for the Cancer Affiliate.

* Liaise with CCS divisions for dissemination of CHN promotion materials

* Represent the CHN Cancer Affiliate on the CHN Partnership and Marketing working group

* Work with CHN Project Manager to create Cancer Affiliate marketing plan and materials

* Work with CHN Project Manager to update Cancer Affiliate FAQs and Cancer Home Page

* Provide marketing expertise to the Cancer Affiliate team



Additional

* Provide direction to the CHN Project Assistant on activities jointly delivered

* Work with the Cancer Affiliate team on broader activities, as required

* Contribute to the Cancer Affiliate quarterly reports, annual report, strategies and work plans



Minimum Qualifications

* University degree in communications or health promotion, or equivalent experience

* Experience in the non-profit sector, especially coordinating partnerships/relationships

* Sensitivity to linguistic and cultural diversity

* Communications/marketing experience

* Knowledge of plain language

* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

* Excellent organizational skills

* Ability to work as part of a team

* MS Suite

* French language ability is an asset
