As a nutrition expert for the Prevention Unit the Health Education Nutritionist sits on provincial committees and collaborates with key stakeholders in Ontario to meet Cancer 2020 key priorities for action on diet, weight and physical activity. The principal responsibilities include: participating in the development of programs, systems and strategies on diet, healthy weight and physical activity; utilizing expert knowledge to provide leadership, influence perception and advise government and other agencies/partners on the impact of diet, healthy weight and physical activity; participating in the planning and analysis of research studies, including preparing position papers and reports; supporting the development of regional cancer and chronic disease prevention projects focused on diet, healthy weight and physical activity; performing cross-functional and/or other duties consistent with the job classification, as assigned or requested.
Ideally, you have completed a Masters degree in nutrition or a recognized equivalent plus three to four years related experience, membership in the College of Dietitians (preferred), demonstrated experience with managing projects which are provincial in scope through all project phases, experience working with multi-stakeholder committees to achieve collaborative outcomes plus highly developed facilitation, problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
