Reporting to the Vice-President, Research and Professional Education, the Health Information Specialist will ensure accurate up to date messaging for all Canadian Health Network Diabetes Affiliate / Canadian Diabetes Association programs, materials and to facilitate external partnerships when content and messaging is paramount to the relationship.
Key responsibilities will be to review resources according to the criteria established by the Canadian Health Network and the Vice-President of Research and Professional Education to ensure quality, accuracy, timeliness and appropriateness; work in conjunction with the CHN Information Specialist to ensure identification of information gaps; participate as required in the writing / review of internal and external materials regarding health information; coordinate external relationships by recommending steps required to fulfill internal requirements and by facilitating the timely review of the content / messaging for the initiative.
Your flair for communication will come in handy when collaborating with Development / Marketing and Communications personnel regarding the time and scope of major initiatives requiring the review of content to determine required review processes; participate as an active member on CHN and CDA committees that would enhance the ability for the review process and ensure accurate up-to-date content (e.g., literature committee, CPG dissemination committees); collaborate with relevant internal contacts to build relationships, define new potential partnerships for the Association and create opportunities to leverage the CHN role.
The successful candidate will have an undergraduate degree in a public health care / educational related field with a minimum of five years' progressive related work experience. Knowledge and understanding of diabetes and chronic disease prevention is a must. Proven experience in the development of consumer education materials / consumer information - tools / resources / programs and publication is required. Bilingual (English and French) would be an asset.
