Researcher Assistant, Canadian Fitness and Lifestyle Research Institute

The Canadian Fitness and Lifestyle Research Institute is a national
research agency concerned with advising, educating and informing
Canadians and professionals about the importance of leading healthy,
active lifestyles. The Institute is directed by a Board of Directors
comprised of eminent scholars and professionals in the area of public
health, physical education, sport sciences, recreation and medicine, as
well as universities and levels of government.

The Canadian Fitness and Lifestyle Research Institute is seeking a
Research Assistant to further its research goals. The term of
employment is for one year with possibility of renewal.

As a Researcher Assistant, you will provide statistical and research
support to a variety of research projects including population surveys
and studies. You will
* perform statistical analyses using SPSS or SAS
* search databases
* create statistical tables
* proof manuscripts
* conduct library research 
* perform other duties of an administrative and statistical nature to support research projects. 

You will have a demonstrated knowledge of package programs for
statistical analysis, proficiency in SAS or SPSS and in Microsoft Word,
Excel, and PowerPoint or equivalents. You will have strong data
management and organizational skills. You will also have good written
and oral communication skills. Proficiency in English is required and
in French is an asset.
