Supervisor, Communicable Diseases/Healthy Sexuality, Region of Peel

You will supervise a multi-disciplinary team that includes public
health nurses, registered nurses and administrative support staff
through a variety of activities such as hiring, evaluating, coaching,
developing, motivating, training and disciplining.  You will also
plan, implement, monitor, and evaluate service delivery related to
Healthy Sexuality Program, specifically clinical and case management
functions.  In addition, you will monitor the budget for the team;
analyze service levels to assist the Manager in evaluating program
efficiency; provide guidance and ensure adherence to applicable
legislations, policies, and standards.  When required you will
participate in various departmental, inter-departmental and interagency
committees.  You will be expected to liaise with community
agencies in order to promote the Health Department, the Healthy
Sexuality program and facilitate implementation of Mandatory Programs.

If you possess

  • a University degree and current certification with the College of
    Nurses of Ontario combined with a minimum of three years experience in
    public health
  • thorough knowledge of sexuality, sexually transmitted diseases
    including HIV/AIDS, case management, medical directives and clinical
    practice
  • knowledge of applicable legislations, policies, and standards
  • program planning, implementation, and evaluation skills
  • demonstrated leadership, project management, negotiation, and problem solving skills
  • ability to motivate and deal effectively with people
  • excellent communication (both verbal and written), facilitation,
    public relations and presentation skills, we would like to hear from
