Master's degree in health studies, psychology or other behavioural
science; or equivalent combination of education and experience
required. Experience managing health behaviour or social science
research, with progressively increasing levels of responsibility,
The candidate should have demonstrated ability to plan and carry
out the implementation of large research projects including providing
team leadership; familiarity with national, regional and/or local
surveillance and survey design; familiarity with the structure and
functioning of community-based organizations; the ability to liaise
effectively both externally (with senior officials in schools,
nongovernmental organizations, and the private sector) and internally;
and, experience supervising and hiring staff and research assistants.
Strong research and writing skills, including an ability to think
critically and analytically, to contribute to scientific papers,
proposals for research funding, and to make presentations at scientific
meetings will be necessary.
